Yeah, flat stomachs are great. But they’re not worth 5 to 10.Alexandra Polack had a problem. She needed, or perhaps just wanted, plastic surgery. Polack lives in Kirkland. And given the dearth of nip and tuckers based on the Eastside, finding one wasn’t likely a problem. Paying for the procedures, however, was.So, needing a down payment on a tummy tuck and liposuction, Polack, a 39-year-old mother of two, allegedly lifted a credit card from her co-worker’s purse while the two lunched last August. Days later, she allegedly used it to make a $2,000 payment towards the total cost of the procedures. Then she went under the knife. According to documents, police tracked Polack down after her co-worker reported that someone had tried to run up nearly $11,000 in charges on her stolen card. The newly slimmed-down Polack now faces multiple charges of identity theft and check fraud. After police informed her that she was under investigation for the theft, Polack must have felt the walls closing in because she went to everyone she’d allegedly de-frauded to make amends. When the alleged victim unsurprisingly balked at her request to not involve the police, Polack checked herself into Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, claiming she was suffering from an infection as a result of the surgery. She was sent home after doctors found no infection, only to be re-admitted the next day after taking what the court documents say were “several” Demerol in an apparent suicide attempt.Polack faces up to ten years in prison, and the prospect of having the unenviable task of explaining to her kids why exactly mom went to prison.
