With a kitchen crew that includes Top Chef New Orleans contestant Carrie Mashaney, Jason Stratton’s (Spinasse, Artusi) modern Spanish restaurant Aragona is now open. The menu features mains, desserts, and bar eats like chicory salad with white beans and tuna and tortillas with Jerusalem artichokes.

Revel and Joule dynamic duo Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi are setting their sights on a new restaurant in the Greenus Building at Pike Street and Summit Avenue on Capitol Hill. A business license for a 4,000-square-foot eatery (to be named) has been registered to Yang. Whatever it’s called, it’s going to be good.

A stone’s throw from Woodland Park Zoo, Phinney Market Pub & Eatery is serving free hot chocolate to dinner guests who visit WildLights, the zoo’s holiday lights festival (through Jan. 4). Present a same-day ticket to redeem the offer.

Ballard’s La Carta de Oaxaca turns 10 this month. To celebrate, the beloved Mexican restaurant is offering an all-day happy hour all week through Saturday, Dec. 21. And although it’s usually closed Sundays, La Carta will serve brunch and dinner this Sunday, Dec. 22. Also, sibling eatery Mezcaleria Oaxaca will launch its 3,000-square-foot Capitol Hill location at the beginning of 2014—stay tuned for details.
