Tonight at 7 p.m., Naked City Taphouse at 8564 Greenwood Ave N. is hosting “Bit by Bit: The Digital Evolution of the Neighborhood.” It’s the latest Humanities Washington-sponsored Think & Drink event, where fine bars and tasting rooms from Seattle to Spokane host talks on a range of topics. This evening, technology expert Alex Alben and communications strategist Hanson Hosein discuss the digital evolution of the neighborhood. Moderated by KUOW’s Ross Reynolds, the talk is free, but the IPA will cost you.
In other news, beloved food truck Lumpia World launches a brick-and-mortar location in the former Pitmasters BBQ location at 1610 S. 341st St. in Federal Way tomorrow. Offering a newly expanded menu, the space seats about 20 diners with outdoor tables in-the-works. It’s not clear if the customers or staff of the Filipino fried fritter joint are more excited about the new shop’s opening. At least that’s the feeling you get from Lumpia’s post on Facebook yesterday: “Feeling nervous right now…Just 2 days away from the StoreFront Opening. This thing is really happening. No turning back. OMG!!!!!!!!”
