The University of Washington has once again been named one of the top colleges in the nation, and it’s not just for its looks this time.
Forbes has released its seventh annual list of the top colleges in the nation, and the UW is ranked as the ninth best public college in all the land. Overall – including non-public institutions – the UW comes in at 73rd best overall, with the calculations using student satisfaction, career success, graduation rates and student debt to determine the rankings.
While ranked highly, the UW is not the top college in Washington, according to Forbes. That honor goes to Whitman College, which was ranked 47th overall. UW was also was only the fourth best school in the Pac-12, behind Stanford, Cal-Berkley and UCLA.
Still, it has been a good week of rankings for the UW. UW-Bothell was recently named the best value for college in the state, and the UW football team debuted at number 25 in the USA Today preseason coaches poll.
According to Forbes the lowest ranked college in Washington was Washington State University, which came in as the 370th best college in the nation. All Cougar jokes aside, considering there are 650 colleges ranked on the list, that’s still not terrible.
