Showbox presents: Capital CitiesSunday | November 168 pm | Showbox SoDoCapital Cities first began when Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian came together through an interesting encounter on Craiglist in 2011 as jingle writers. But realizing their great chemistry and the same creativity, this dynamic duo released an EP with their most recognized song “Safe and Sound.” Eventually through the publicity of their EP, Ryan and Sebu joined Manny Quintero, Spencer Ludwig, Nick Merwin and Channing Holmes to become Capital Cities. With a full band, the imaginative and brilliant minds of Capital Cities released a full length album, “In a Tidal Wave of Mystery,” last June. Working alongside Andre 3000 in their song “Farrah Fawcett Hair,” and even more performances with artists such as Asher Roth, Captial Cities will make their way to Showbox SoDo with Cherub and Night Terrors of 1927 on November 16th for plenty of electronic music to share!Not feelin’ lucky?
