Prepare for some warm and fuzzy feelings.
After the Seahawks destroyed the Broncos last Sunday, happy Seattleites ran through the streets, hugged each other, and tossed Skittles around in the air.
Much ballyhoo was made of the characteristically polite way Seattleites “rioted” after the win, spawning a #HowSeattleRiots Twitter craze inspired by a video of Ballard revelers waiting at a crosswalk before continuing their celebration.
Pioneer Square was the one blight on the otherwise hiccup-free night of urban rioting, where Super Bowl partiers caused $25,000 in damages to the historic, 100-year-old pergola by breaking the glass on its ceiling.
This morning, a GoFundMe.com campaign was launched to help Seattle Parks fix the damage, and in less than a day, Seattlites blew past the $15,000 goal, currently standing at $16,046.
That, is #HowSeattleRiots.
