MySpaceTwo faculty members at Skyview High School in Vancouver were arrested this week, charged with having sex with their students. Sexual misconduct charges aren’t something the parent of any high schooler wants to see come from their child’s house of learning ever–let alone twice in a week.According to The Columbian police arrested band assistant Adrian Kelley on Tuesday. Kelley, 23, graduated from Skyview in 2005 and joined the staff last year. After returning to his alma mater, he allegedly struck up friendships with two female band members on an unnamed social networking site. (We’ll give you one guess.) The relationships turned social and eventually sexual. “[O]fficers then went to speak to Kelley and arrested him after he said he’d had a sexual relationship with both students,” The Columbian found written in charging documents. Then yesterday, science teacher Nathan Botnon was arrested and charged with sexual misconduct for allegedly having sex with a then-17-year-old student during the 2007-2008 school year. “Suspicions arose Wednesday when school administrators learned of inappropriate text messages between Botnen and the girl, revealing an alleged sexual relationship, and notified the Sheriff’s Office,” The Columbian reports. The paper did not give any information as to Botnen’s response to the charges. As a precaution, we recommend the other faculty at Skyview just don’t “friend” their students. Do you really want to know what they say about your class anyway?
