Max Gasoi AKA: AKshun Tha DonIt’s been a bloody few days by the Puget Sound. Four police officers shot in Lakewood Sunday morning. And on Friday night, police responding to calls at the corner of Ninth Avenue and Columbia found a man suffering from a bullet wound in the street near St. James Cathedral. Now the Seattle Times is reporting that the victim, who died at the scene, was local rapper and hip-hop promoter Max Gasoi–perhaps better known by his stage name “AKshun Tha Don,” member of the Get Money Click and owner of So Hood Records.According to the AKshun promotional MySpace page, Gasoi is a New York City transplant. After moving to Seattle, he started a record label in an attempt to “turn his life around.” He began performing. Founded a record label. And recorded a mixtape. But as Miko Braxton, the mother of Gasoi’s infant daughter, told the Times, he also lived a “gangster life style.”On the night of his murder, witnesses on First Hill reported hearing three gunshots. Gasoi, a Central District resident, was found shortly afterward in front of a black Nissan 4-door sedan with a bullet wound to his chest. SPD hasn’t yet named any suspects, nor have they yet released any details on the events that led up to the shooting.
