Last night, the Arizona Cardinals gave cornerback Patrick Peterson a five-year, $70

Last night, the Arizona Cardinals gave cornerback Patrick Peterson a five-year, $70 million contract extension – of which an impressive $48 million is guaranteed. The deal makes Peterson the highest paid cornerback in the league, and he was quick to note the achievement on Twitter.

Of course, as we know, there’s a cornerback in Seattle who hasn’t been shy about declaring himself “the best corner in the game.” He’s Richard Sherman, and – oh by the way – he signed a four-year, $56 million deal with Seattle a mere two months ago, of which $40 million is guaranteed. That’s a boatload of cash, but it’s not Peterson money. So how would Sherman react to Peterson’s epic deal?

You saw this one coming.

First, Sherman baited his prey with a subtle retweet. You’d expect nothing less from a true Twitter Beef King. The man can’t help himself.

Richard Sherman and Patrick Peterson combined to allow 8 touchdown passes in 2013. Peterson gave up seven of those.

Peterson, probably still mesmerized by the new zeros in his bank account, was drawn in. He didn’t know it yet, but he was already burned.

Yu mad bro!!!! LMAO

And … this is why you don’t mess with Richard Sherman on Twitter.

The lesson: When you try Richard Sherman with a sorry ‘yu mad bro!!!!’ tweet like Peterson’s, this is the result you gonna get. Don’t you ever talk about Richard Sherman on Twitter. Don’t you open your mouth on Twitter about Richard Sherman or he’s gonna shut it for you real quick.
