Last night Dow Constantine Chief of Staff Sharon Nelson got the green light from 34th District Dems to seek confirmation from the King County Council to replace Rep. Joe McDermott who was appointed to Erik Poulsen’s vacant state Senate seat. Transportation is a biggie for Nelson. In a questionnaire submitted to the Vashon/Maury party faithful, it shows up at the top of her messages and priorities lists. “If Proposition 1 fails, the Legislature must immediately take action on a transit/transportation package. We are already 40 years behind,” writes the RTID supporter.Nelson also gave $100 to embattled King County Councilor Jane Hague after Richard Pope filed his candidacy. In 2006, she kicked $55 to the 34th District Dems.
