5–9 Christopher Wheeldon at Pacific Northwest Ballet Wheeldon was one of the first ballet choreographers to arrive on the scene after Balanchine’s death, helping to ease the anxiety about “What shall we do next?” His easy use of classical materials in a wide variety of productions, for his original home at the Royal Ballet and his adopted home at New York City Ballet, among many other companies, has made him an artist in demand.
