It’s hard not to like Marshawn Lynch, at least a little. Yes, he’s had run-ins with the law (guns and DUI) – which aren’t to be taken lightly – but, in a sports world dominated by cliche answers, crafted images, and cut-out personalities, at least Lynch manages to be real. There’s a genuineness to his antics that make Lynch hard not to root for, whether you’re a Seahawks fan or not. I mean, who hasn’t desperately wanted to chug Fireball from the hood of a Ride The Ducks amphibious vehicle?
Typically, Lynch is reserved; he shies away from the spotlight. It’s one of the things that helps the general public relate to him, no matter what offended sports writers might have to say about it. But in the forthcoming ESPN The Magazine “Body Issue” – which will hit the street July 11 – the Seahawks running back bares it all … literally.
Yes, according to the hype Lynch will appear in the nude in this year’s issue, much the same way 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did last year.
Except, of course, it’s Lynch … so it won’t be anything what others have done before. “I got to show some love for the fat backs. Don’t matter if we don’t get love, as long as I give mine,” Lynch says in quotes released by ESPN in advance of the Body Issue’s publication.
“Even though I get butt-a** naked, I’m still gonna let my body do the talking for me, I’m cool with my body, I love my body. I wouldn’t trade it for no other body.”
