If you’re tough: Marshawn Lynch, #24 Lynch is a running back with the soul of a linebacker, dishing out bone-crunching hits on every run. He’s scored 35 TDs since 2010—three times more than any other Seahawk.
If you’re flashy: Golden Tate, #81 Slippery, speedy Tate has the glittering style to match his name; his touches are usually the most exciting plays of every game.
If you’re ironic: Jon Ryan, #9 Walk around with the punter’s name on your back as the ultimate middle finger to the football-industrial complex.
If your mind is in the gutter: Clinton McDonald, #69 Enough said.
If you’re improvisational: Earl Thomas, #29 The Seahawks’ manic free safety has the fun job of diagnosing plays and hurling himself toward where he thinks the ball will go.
If you’re wise: Russell Wilson, #3 The risk in dropping $100 on a player’s jersey is that he might get bad or get traded. Neither is likely to happen to star QB Wilson. Your new jersey could stay in style another 15 years—something you can’t say for $100 Warby Parker glasses.
If you’re a student of the game: Doug Baldwin, #89 Stanford grad Baldwin doesn’t have NFL size or speed, which is why he didn’t get drafted. Baldwin’s succeeded—he’s the Hawks’ leading receiver this year—by studying ways to find unguarded areas in NFL defenses.
If you’re charismatic: Richard Sherman, #25 You can feel Sherman enter a room, according to a friend who covers the Seahawks full time. Last year he outdebated ESPN’s Skip Bayless; this year he’s writing a column for Sports Illustrated; by next year he may have his own TV network.
If you’re a trendsetter: Percy Harvin, #11 Wide receiver Harvin has yet to play for the Seahawks after signing the most expensive free-agent contract in Seattle sports history in March. Incredibly fast and elusive, Harvin will be wreaking havoc on the field soon; he may become the most talented receiver the Hawks have ever had.
If you’re clueless: Matt Flynn, #15 Flynn lost the starting QB job to Wilson last year, but not before manufacturers had churned out boxloads of Flynn-flavored apparel. Stores have plenty of Flynn jerseys at attractive prices, but don’t be tempted—at this writing he’s on the roster of the lowly Buffalo Bills.
