If you squint, Matthew Tucker sort of bears a slight resemblance to a guy caught on camera robbing pharmacies. That likeness appears to be one reason an entire Seattle Police SWAT team busted into Tucker’s Ballard home and arrested him and his girlfriend more than a year ago, before letting them go with an apology later. But “appears to be” is about as good as it gets in terms of answers, as SPD still won’t tell anyone why they thought Tucker was their suspect. The P-I

reported the story Thursday night after Tucker filed a lawsuit seeking the release of information as to why he was targeted in the raid.At the time, investigators were tracking a string of pharmacy robberies, and somehow got a tip that the robber lived in Tucker’s house. He didn’t. And Tucker has no idea who the guy is.This robbery suspect is not Matthew Tucker. But by the end of it he still wound up with scrapes and bruises from the arrest, and had a lot of explaining to do with his neighbors who saw the whole thing go down.Tucker’s lawyer David Whedbee tells the P-I:”Mr. Tucker believes that what happened was not right. He wasn’t the right person. He wasn’t a threat.”Some general documents have apparently been released to Tucker, but the bulk of them have been withheld because the department claims that the case is an ongoing federal investigation. But with a year gone by since the home invasion, one has to wonder when or if the investigation will ever wrap up.Follow The Daily Weekly on Facebook and Twitter.
