Gov. Chris Gregoire and challenger Dino Rossi have finally answered what YouTube thinks are the top video questions submitted in their recent YouChoose 08 contest. It appears that the No. 1 video, a song by Pudge, failed to make the cut.
(I was unable to download Rossi’s video, but a back/forth cyberworld debate between the two can be easily viewed here).
In response to the queries
—Pharmacists and the morning-after pill: Gregoire says she backs requiring pharmacists to sell the pill, while Rossi opposes the requirement.
—The budget: Gregoire says she “inherited” a huge deficit from budget-writing Sen. Rossi and has turned things around to create a surplus; in fact, Rossi says, she’s blown a surplus and created a new deficit – if Gregoire’s re-elected, expect new taxes.
—National ID Card: Gregoire says Real ID program has flaws, Rossi says he doesn’t support it. Both worry about funding and privacy.
—Global warming: Gregoire says the state is among the nation’s leaders in new intiatives to combat climate change; Rossi says rather than force people out of cars, other measures can be imposed, and he’d give people the chance to choose.
—Health Care: Should be a right, not a privilege, says Gregoire, and the state is expanding coverage especially to children; Rossi says the state is a leader in health-care technology, and he’ll work with the budget to expand care.
Thrilling!
