As Washington CeaseFire noted on its Facebook page yesterday, Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn is scheduled to appear on Fox News’ On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren tonight. The subject of discussion: the recently launched program encouraging Seattle businesses to declare themselves gun-free.

In confirming the appearance, McGinn spokesperson Aaron Pickus says the segment was taped on Thursday and will air at 7:40 pm Seattle time. What does McGinn hope to accomplish by diving into what’s sure to be a hostile Fox News environment?

“The mayor was invited on the show and we saw it as an opportunity to stand up for Seattle’s values on gun control,” says Pickus.

It’ll be interesting to see how that goes. Something tells me Dori Monson is setting his DVR now.
