As people in Seattle continue to debate whether or not Seattle City Light director Jorge Corrasco deserves his controversial payraise to $305,000, two university football coaches turned out to be the highest paid Washington state employees last year, respectively raking in over $2 million each.
In a report released Monday by the Office of Financial Management, it was revealed that UW coach Steve Sarkisian and WSU coach Mike Leach were far and away the highest paid employees of Washington State in 2013. Sarkisian earned $2.6 million, while Leach earned $2.3 million. UW basketball coach Lorenzo Romar was the only other employee with a $1 million-plus salary, earning $1.9 million.
