WG +1This Sunday, June 12
, Bluebird Microcreamery (the Capitol Hill ice-cream shop that’s not Molly Moon and is also home of to-die-for peanut butter ice cream and beer floats) is kicking off a summer concert series with a stellar bill featuring The West, Cig Bros, and Reverb favorite Witch Gardens. The show is all-ages, starts at 9:30 p.m., and will run you a scanty $4 at the door. And in commemoration of the event, Bluebird will be selling a special Witch Gardens-inspired ice-cream flavor called Witch Mix. The specific flavor will be a surprise–even to the band–although it will be one of four recipes suggested by Witch Gardens’ autoharpist extraordinaire Karolyn Kukoski, who I can tell you is a baker and culinary artist of stunning and extreme talent. Of the ice-cream venture, WG’s Casey Catherwood tells me, “We think ice cream is just the beginning of endorsements and products WG can use to strengthen our empire. Like the Beatles, but cuter.”Get there on Sunday before I eat it all. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
