Vancouver garage-rock duo Japandroids are following up last year’s critically acclaimed Post-Nothing with five 7″ singles to be released throughout the year. The first of these releases is called “Art Czars,” which you can order on the band’s website, but “Art Czars”‘ B-side, “Racer-X,” is actually more bad-ass than the single. “Racer-X” is a cover of a 1984 Big Black song; here, in typical Japandroids fashion, it’s fuzzy, noisy, and deliberate. I love the part where drummer David Prowse spits out, “It’s just a goddamn job!” just so disdainfully.Click here to go to spin.com and listen to “Racer-X.” Japandroids are currently playing shows across the country with Avi Buffalo, Bear In Heaven, A Sunny Day In Glasgow, among others, and will be at Sasquatch! on May 31.
