This is undoubtedly my least favorite type of news to report as music journalist. I just received word from the Bellingham music community that former Boat drummer Phil Mayben has passed away this weekend, reportedly from a drug overdose. I will be covering this in Rocket Queen this week once more details are made available. In the interim, this message board thread appears to be where Phil’s friends are remembering him.
