The August 29th issue of Rolling Stone will feature none other than the freckled, smirking mug of Macklemore. In a cover story by Brian Hiatt, Mack talks about his struggles with addiction and the singles that rocketed him to stardom. “The legacy that I’m leaving on the world is more than just a song about second-hand clothes,” says the *usually* humble rapper (though Rolling Stone covers have a tendency to alter their subject’s values, don’t they, Dr. Hook?). You can read more about the feature here. Elliott Bay Bookstore and the First & Pike newsstand say they’ll have the issue on stands by Friday.
In non-Macklemore related news, holy shit, Sebadoh has a new album–Defend Yourself, their first in 14 years. Seattle fans can hear it this Saturday at a test-pressing listening party at Sonic Boom. That’s cool, I guess, but nothing beats seeing Lou Barlow, the lo-fi, sound tweaking frontman, live. Hopefully this means a tour’s somewhere down the line. We’ll keep you posted.
