Swedish electronic musician and producer Axel Wilner makes music under the name The Field, and his recent album, Looping State of Mind, has been a personal favorite of mine this year. Wilner’s music is subtle, minimalist techno, which is brought to life on stage by a full band The Field will perform tonight at Chop Suey, and Eric Grandy previews the show succinctly in this month’s Reverb Monthly: “The Field swirls up impressionistic micro-loops over motorik heartbeats to make soft-white techno with shoegaze depth and melody.”Doors open at 9 p.m. for tonight’s show, and tickets cost $13.
