Sir Paul McCartney, one of the Beatles’ two surviving members, will play

Sir Paul McCartney, one of the Beatles’ two surviving members, will play Safeco Field July 19. The concert–part of his “Out There” tour–was announced today at the ballpark.

McCartney last played Seattle in 2005 at the Key Arena. Along with his long-awaited return to the Emerald City, the “cute one” is also the first artist ever to perform in concert at the stadium. According to the press release, the show will feature: “brand new, never before seen production and, as ever, hours of material from the most beloved catalog in popular music, with Paul performing songs spanning his entire career–as a solo artist, member of Wings, and of course, The Beatles.”

Dates are still being added to the tour, but the knightly vegetarian chose a good venue for his appetite, too–Safeco Field recently debuted a new menu of vegetarian-friendly ballpark eats, including Field Roast chili-cheese burgers and Asian-themed vegan steamed buns.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.com and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, April 12.
