See PUSA live, in color and unplugged at the Paramount Oct. 23.Actor and Seattle native Rainn Wilson is hosting a one-time-only night of comedy and music at the Paramount in a few weeks and he’s asked some of Seattle’s finest to show up for the occasion.Wilson, who is best known as Mr. “Assistant to the Regional Manager” Dwight Schrute on NBC’s The Office, announced yesterday on his Twitter account that The Long Winters will be joining him as part of the Rainn Wilson and Friends fundraiser on Oct. 23. They join the already announced Presidents of the United States of America, who will be performing a rare acoustic set, former Harvey Danger frontman Sean Nelson and Andy Grammer.As for the comedy portion of the evening, along with featuring Wilson the show will include the always exciting “special guests” who are billed as being members of the cast of The Office (please be Steve Carrell, please be Steve Carrell). Craig Robinson, who is also a cast member of The Office, will be a part of the bill as well.All proceeds will benefit the Mona Foundation which is an organization that supports grassroots educational initiatives and raising the status of women and girls worldwide. Tickets to the show, which was originally slated for the Moore Theatre but moved the Paramount due to demand, cost $27.50. If you want more funny time with Wilson you can buy tickets to a pre-show dinner at the Steelhead Diner where you can mingle with all of the evening’s performers. Those will set you back $172.50 a pop. Or for $125 you can attend the post-show hangout session with Rainn and his friends in the lobby of the Paramount.
