Scared of Chaka, circa a long while back.David Yanul Hernandez, Seattle resident, current bassist/guitarist of the Shins and last but not least, guitarist and frontman of the now defunct Albuquerque punk band Scared of Chaka posted a bulletin yesterday about a reunion of his former band. Slated for March 28 at an ambiguous 250 capacity venue in the ambiguous Reno/Virginia City area, the band will be helping to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Sticker Guy! Custom Vinyl Stickers that eventually became 702 Records and Slovenly Recordings. Says Mr. Hernandez in the post:if you are dying to see me, ron and dameon embarrass ourselves pretending we’re still in our twenties hurry up and get tickets. we’ll probably break our hips! fun!Joining them on the bill will be the (also reunited) Gain along with sets from the Spits (!), the Bananas and the Rippers. http://stickerguy.wordpress.com/tickets/
