Ryan RussellIt’s been 30 years since Tom Gabel dropped out of high school to form the agitated, aggravated folk-punk outfit Against Me!, and the guy really isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. The band has charted on the Billboard 200, played Coachella, appeared on Conan O’Brien and David Letterman, and amassed a serious army of devoted fans. Currently, they’re gearing up for the release of White Crosses, the follow-up to their Sire Records cross-over success, 2007’s New Wave. Exciting stuff, but Against Me! is really a band you have to see in concert – their unique brand of punk rock is wild, rousing, and tons of fun – everything any fan of live music could ask for. Catch ’em tonight at Neumo’s with Jaguar Love and Cancerbats – $10 and doors at 8 p.m.
