Posse’s Nick Heliotis using technology in the studio.I spent last Tuesday night at the Sunset checking out the emergent indie-rock quartet Posse and came away loving their charming, 90s-nostalgic sound–so I’m extra-stoked to be able to share some of their killer tunes here on Reverb. Recently, Posse went to Olympia to record some songs at Captain Tripps Ballsington’s High Command studios (Ballsington’s recorded with Gun Outfit and Sex Vid, both bands Posse loves), and these five tracks are the result of that session.

Above, you can hear some of the Posse songs I mentioned in my review last week–the sweet, lackadaisical “Interesting Thing No. 2 (Do Do Do Do)” and the fierce, chugging “Sarah” (bad-ass guitar solo) being my favorites. Your next chance to catch Posse live is Sunday, April 3 at the Funhouse, where they’ll share the bill with Dom, Heavy Hawaii, and So Pitted. The following week, on April 9, they’ll be playing the Wild Rose’s new monthly rock-band night, Dust Off, with WAMU, a new band that includes members of PWRFL Power and Pica Beats.Or go to both!Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
