Photo by Chrissy PiperIf you’re not already excited about Record Store Day this Saturday, April 17–Barsuk is releasing a 7-inch split by Menomena and the Helio Sequence!–maybe the Seattle DVD release and screening of The Life Of The World To Come at Northwest Film Forum will get your attention. According to the forum’s website, the film is “a documentary about The Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle as he returns to Pomona College, where he performed Bach minuets as an 8-year-old piano student.” The film is directed by Rian Johnson, who directed the modern day teen noir film, Brick. Screening starts at 9:30 p.m. April 17. If you’re thinking of skipping the screening and just buying the DVD, you should probably stop by Northwest Film Forum on Saturday, anyway. The DVD will be sold on Record Store Day only.
