One of Iceland’s most sonically interesting, experimental-with-otherwordly-vocals exports is touring the globe in support of their sæglópur EP (Geffen). The Emergency + New Fangs

Check out KEXP’s long-running local program, Audioasis Live, with the Emergency and New Fangs at 6 p.m. Afterward, Daylight Basement, the Fading Collection, and Sera Cahoone join the Emergency in a benefit for Powerful Voices, which works with girls in middle school and the juvenile justice system. Boy Sets Fire + Kane Hodder + Versus the Mirror + Fully Down

The progressive hardcore of Boy Sets Fire has been scorching for over a decade, and last month saw the release of Misery Index: Notes From the Plague Years (Equal Vision). It must still be working, because some great bands round out the bill. El Corazon, 4 p.m. $10 All ages

Rainer Maria + Aloha + Ambulette + Sea Navy

Aloha’s latest finds them continuing to mine their dreamy progressive rock warmth. The early Genesis-inspired Ohio quartet delves into jazz and post-rock elements on record while their live shows have proved to be strong, mostly improvised affairs. Paradox, 7:30 p.m. $10 All ages

It’s hard to stomach a band that boasts a former Wallflower on its roster, but Morningwood do all right at delivering power pop. Add a bit of disco shimmer and Karen O-style assertions from a cute frontwoman and you might forget that their bassist once drummed for the lesser Dylan. El Corazon, 9:30 p.m. $15

International Falls + Velella Velella + Yukon

Evoking the musical equivalent of their name, Velella Velella (a type of jellyfish) bathe their sound in sharp electronic hues. The bits of jazz, funk, and electro-pop add to their sereneness. Gallery 1412, 8 p.m. $5-$15

Regina Spektor + Only Son

She’s got a breathy, jazzy quality to her voice, one that compliments her songs, which draw influence from classic folk, hip-hop, and Russian music. Though she’s often compared to Fiona Apple, Spektor is far too idiosyncratic and playful to be easily categorized. Chop Suey, 7 p.m. $12.50

The Vacation

Get wild and karazy with beer-drenched, stage-diving, drive-the-ladies-wild rockers the Vacation. The Sun, Top Heavy Crush, A Chance Without, and Remnant Soldier also perform. El Corazon, 6:30 p.m. $8 adv./$10 All ages

Secret Machines

Acid Mothers Temple + Antarcticans

Led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto, these Japanese psych-rock monsters have a reputation for brain-slaying live performances. Erecting monolithic walls of fuzz and slinging forth piercing cosmic tangents amidst a whirlwind of hair and beards, it’s hard to remember they’re of this earth. Neumo’s, 8 p.m. $10 adv./$12

Sub Pop DVD Party + DJ Grunge

Eugene Mirman’s two-disc CD/DVD release, En Garde, Society, is being released, celebrated, and protested on the same day. Picket the comedian’s release at the Ballard Sonic Boom (why not?), then go check out the footage of his stand-up, and some other Sub Pop short films, at the Sunset. Sunset Tavern, 7 p.m. NC
