Yeah Yeah Yeahs When Yeah Yeah Yeahs released the album art for its new record, Mosquito, people were rightfully confused. A “Garbage Pail Kids”–style rendering of a horrifying sludge-covered baby about to be violated by a mosquito? Huh? The cover, though exceedingly ugly, at least managed to whip up a press storm for a group that’s been fighting for relevance since its incredible decade-defining debut LP Fever to Tell. Unfortunately, Mosquito sounds as confused as its cover art. But don’t let that sway you from seeing YYY at Marymoor—despite the milquetoast record, nothing can change the fact that Karen O is one of our best performers. She still hasn’t relented from all the howling and writhing around that rocketed the group to stardom 10 years ago, and that alone is worth the price of admission. With Har Mar Superstar.
