Iska Dhaaf Release Debut Album Even the Sun Will Burn
If you like Farfisa, catchy melodies, and punked out pop, you are going to love Iska Dhaaf’s new album. We’ve talked ceaselessly about the new local project, formed from the unlikely combination of Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band’s Ben Verdoes and Mad Rad’s Nate Quiroga. They drummed up a heap of hype when Macklemore made an appearance in the video for “Everybody Knows.”
The band’s release show is this Thursday at Neumos, with Stickers and Don’t Talk to the Cops. Stream the album below:
One Reel to Host “City of Music Career Day” at EMP and The Vera Project
On April 10, a monolithic collection of music biz insiders will gather together for the”City of Music Career Day.” The impressive panel will assemble for the free day-long event to speak on music career opportunities and how to break into the oftentimes intimidating music world. The event is even an excused absence for Seattle Public Schools, so students can skip class and fill their brains with music knowledge.
This year’s keynote speech will feature KEXP’s John Richards interviewing Sasquatch Festival founder/STG booker Adam Zacks. The panelists for the day will include:

Chateau Ste. Michelle is a very fancy sounding winery in Woodinville that has lined up quite an array of artists for its upcoming summer concert series.
Allen Stone, Sarah McLachlan, Merle Haggard & Emmylou Harris, John Legend, and Steve Winwood will perform the month of June at the Chateau’s amphitheatre. If you’ve got an extra $40 laying around, you can sip wine and soak in the sun while enjoying some adult pop/rock. It’s like Sasquatch for grown ups.
