In my blurb on Spindrift this week, I removed some information in the process of editing my blurb that I forgot to work back in. Which resulted in a fact error. Brilliant, Brickner, brilliant. I meant to say that Spindrift’s album The West is their first on the Dandy Warhols’ new label, Beat the World. But in the editing shuffle, that information got lost, and somehow, the world “debut” remained. Ouch. And right after I reminded freelancers that it never hurts to double and triple-check their facts. Double ouch. So, to get the record straight: The West is not the band’s first album. It is just their first album on Beat the World, which is what I intended to say. Sorry, Spindrift. And sorry, readers. From now on, I pledge not to go fixing things all last-minute without checking back to make sure I’m still saying what I meant to say. I absolutely should have noticed this before the paper went to print. Fifty lashes for me, administered by a pioneer mama with a birch switch.
