If Sesame Street were aimed at manic adults instead of toddlers, you would probably find Wimps’ new video on it. 



Animated by Wimps bassist/vocalist Matt Nyce, the squiggletastic video for “Hello Frustration” finds the punk trio’s cartoon counterparts running away from knotted up clouds of neurosis, depression, anxiety and frustration.

Escaping mental anguish has never been so much fun!

Keep an eye out for the easter egg at 0:47, where drummer Dave Ramm discretely pulls a pizza out of a swarm of incarnate neurotic energy (right before launching into some solid arm windmills). Forget psychiatrists and anti-anxiety medication—pizza is how you truly defeat a case of the doldrums.

Wimps recently kicked all of the ass at Chop Suey’s Around the Block Party last weekend, which the band called its “T-Shirt release show.” There were indeed some sweet t-shirts unleashed upon the public after the performance, one of which included a picture of a hot dog riding a skateboard. If our upcoming Best Of issue had a “Best Band T-Shirt” category, Wimps would have won in a heartbeat. 

The band is about to head out on the road for an extensive national “Certain Deaf” tour, where they will sing about naps, eating, and being too hungover to get out of bed all across the country. Hopefully they can drive fast enough to allude all those squiggly clouds of negative energy.
