Fred and Toody Cole’s ominous, bluesy punk rock hasn’t changed much since the couple started performing as Pierced Arrows, and the Portland-based band’s brand-new album, Descending Shadows (it came out today), proves it. Though it moves at a leisurely pace, on the whole it is as rough, sinister and unpolished as their recordings of yore. You can stream the new album on Vice Records’ Web site.
