For about a year and a half, fans of house music and nu disco have been congregating at Contour for a mellow midweek dance party caled NuDe Wednesdays. The intimacy of the venue’s small, enclosed dance floor and warmly lit bar is part of the night’s charm and adds to the cozy family vibes. Up until recently, Joe Cancino (DJ Grover) was running the show, but he turned the night over to Jason Melton (booking and operations) and Alicia Serling (promotions) in mid-December when he relocated for work. The two have since been hard at work lining up a cast of local and up-and-coming talent. “To me,” says Melton, “the NuDe (Nu Disco/Deep House) part is about stripping away all of the stress midweek and just getting together with a group of good people and enjoying life and music with like minded individuals.”
