Fast Arrow, AlibiOut now, self-releasedWebsiteElectronic duo Fast Arrow met in a community college audio-engineering course, and it shows on Alibi, their debut album. Hi-hats clicks, synths pulsate, and singer Lesley Braden’s vocals sit reliably in the middle of the mix. It’s a competent synthpop release, and when the songwriting keeps up with the production, like on the moody title track, it’s a pretty good one. That, however, is not always the case. Braden has a serviceable voice, but not a great one, and she could use some stronger hooks to work with; there’s plenty of interesting synth work, but not much else for the listener to grab on to. Listen to the title track after the jump, and stream the whole album on Fast Arrow’s Bandcamp.Alibi by Fast Arrow
