Elvis PerkinsElvis Perkins in Dearland, Tim Eriksen Shape-Note Extravaganza at the Tractor Tavern, 8 p.m., $14The folk stylings of Elvis Perkins In Dearland will surely make for a laid-back Monday evening; you can listen to the self-titled album on the band’s homepage if you’re unfamiliar with the band or Elvis Perkins’ first record, Ash Wednesday. There’s also a free Elvis Perkins In Dearland in-store at the Queen Anne Easy Street Records that starts at 7:30 p.m.; that show’s all ages, for those of you who can’t get in to the Tractor tonight.Ladyfinger, Little Brazil, the Coyotes at Sunset Tavern, 9 p.m., $6If you’re looking for something a little (but not too much) louder, Little Brazil and Ladyfinger both come straight from Omaha; Ladyfinger is a Saddle Creek band, while Little Brazil is was signed to our own local Mt. Fuji Records. And yet, both bands manage to embody that distinct Saddle Creek sound that put the label on the map so many years ago….ok, not SO many. But long enough to make 20-something me feel like a granny. Anyway, they’re playing with the Coyotes, a slightly more eclectic local band that’s worth keeping an eye on.
