Fans lined up around the block in anticipation of Conor Oberst’s performance at the Showbox Tuesday night. Jonathan Wilson, who in addition to producing Oberst’s recent work also plays guitar in his band, started out the night. Wilson’s soft blues rock draws deeply from southern rock, with slide guitar and electric organ accentuated by ripping pentatonic riffs.Conor Oberst, made famous by his solo project Bright Eyes, has gained a near cult-like following during his prolific career and this time around has been touring as a solo act. At this most recent stop in Seattle, Oberst played cuts from his entire repertoire, including songs released as Bright Eyes to tunes written with his other project Monsters of Folk. The Showbox was packed for the performance, with fans screaming messages of adoration to the rocker between songs. Check out our favorite moments in the slideshow.
