Cat Power

Cool retro!!!

First there was “Let’s Spend the Night Together”: baba daba, bop bop a daba . . . work OUT!

Then there was “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”extreme retro. Everybody would slur “Jumpin’ Jack Flash, it’s a gas, gas, gas” into “Shit’s a gas, gas, gas.” Tr賠cool!

Then Slade: “Gudbuy T’Jane.” “She’s so young! She’s so young! She’s so young!” Very cool and very retro.

And then NOTHING, years and years and years of nothing, until RIGHT NOW: “Make Love on LSD” by Cat Power . . . diggggg it:

“In Xanadu did Kubla Khan/A stately pleasure-dome decree/Where Alph, the sacred river, ran/Thru caverns measureless to man/Makin’ love on LSD.”

Like fuckin’ wow, Jesus . . . now THAT is retro!!!! (And retro-proactive.)
