Capitol Hill’s Cairo has long provided much needed cultural space for all of the wonderful and weird art happening in Seattle’s underground. Where else can you cram into a tiny room and see incredible bands, buy locally designed clothes, and see neat visual art all at once? If you need any more proof of its radness, last night the place hosted an art show all about butts.

Since 2011, Cairo has ventured out from its four walled confines and headed up to Volunteer Park to hold what it calls “Vibrations Festival,” a sunny, summertime kaleidoscope of Cascadian bands playing a one day, completely free of charge to the public outdoor festival.

Cairo needs our help making Vibrations 2014 a reality, and is launching an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for this year’s incarnation. Donations can net you some sweet shirts designed by La Luz’s Shana Cleveland, Midday Veil’s Emily Pothast, and Intruder contributor Aidan Fitzgerald, as well as an array of sweet records and cassettes from Cairo compilation albums featuring bands like King Dude, Mount Eerie and Weed.
