By now, you’ve probably heard about Macklemore’s four Grammy sweep over the weekend. Macklmore sent Lamar a now infamous text message which he posted on his Instagram:”You got robbed. I wanted you to win. You should have. It’s weird and sucks that I robbed you. I was gonna say that during the speech. Then the music started playing during my speech and I froze. Anyway, you know what it is. Congrats on this year and your music. Appreciate you as an artist and a friend. Much love”

The New York Times called the move “a transparent ploy for absolution, and a warning of robberies to come” while many Seattleites rose to the rapper’s defense on Facebook. Everything happens for a reason; the universe comes back around, that’s how it go.
