Black Flag’s masculine shirtless shouting be damned—with all the screaming and bodily fluids involved, nothing’s more punk rock than squeezing another human being out of you. Seattle supergroup Childbirth upped the punx on everyone this year by slipping on maternity gowns and putting out a cassette, with a fetus wearing shades on the cover, called It’s a Girl! With nary a song longer than two minutes and eight seconds, the album is a riffy, witty reflection on 21st-century ladyhood, sexual politics, and menopause. It also boasts incredible song titles, like “Crossbitch” and “I Only Fucked You as a Joke.” It’ll be the best 13 minutes you spend today, I promise. childbirth.bandcamp.com
