Bjorn LexiusThis weekend marks a homecoming for Rocky Votolato, who’s been on a global tour in support of his latest record, Television of Saints, that’s taken him from Italy to Idaho since March. In reviewing Television of Saints earlier this year, Andrew Gospe stated: “It’s the kind of record that’s a dime a dozen in Seattle–lots of vocal harmonies, plaintive acoustic guitar, introspective lyrics about self-discovery–but Votolato does it better than most; credit his voice, which manages to be both engaging and unpretentious, and songwriting that’s subtile enough to convey a message without beating you over the head with it.”Votolato’s hometown fans will have their chance to hear him play his new material this Saturday, June 9 at Neumos. The show is all ages and costs $13 to get in, but we’re giving away a pair of tickets for free.To win the tickets, email me at ethompson@seattleweekly.com by tonight at 5pm. Tell me what your favorite song on Television of Saints is and why. The most eloquent of you will win the prize.Good luck!
