Back in August, Shana Cleveland of the Curious Mystery talked to me

Back in August, Shana Cleveland of the Curious Mystery talked to me about her non-musical artwork–drawings and paintings of early rock-and-roll stars. Tomorrow night, Hollow Earth Radio is hosting an installation of her black-and-white portraits. The installation is poetically called “In the evening heat we ate cookies like meat.” Cleveland will be performing songs with her band the Sandcastles, along with songwriters Ora Cogan and Eleanor Murray, and the local duo Thousands, who just returned from a touring stint opening for tUnE-yArDs in the U.S. and Europe. This event is all ages, with a $6 suggested donation, and the music starts at 7 p.m. Cleveland tells me that there might be some pizza there.Click through to preview a few of the portraits that will be on display at Hollow Earth, including one of Cleveland’s lookalikes, the Ronettes.Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
