As we reported a couple of months ago, longtime Funhouse bartender Jessica Young and partner Jamie Bernard recently purchased the shuttered Bit Saloon, a lovably scruffy dive on the edge of Old Ballard that booked a nice assortment of rock, punk and metal bands. They’ve re-christened it the “Two Bit Saloon” and given it a gentle facelift with a warm wood facade. The grand re-opening is on Saturday, May 8, and despite the aesthetic upgrade, it’s clear they’re not interested in straying too far from their rowdy punk-rock roots: the Piss Drunks, Schmidt-Aholics and Neon Nights are scheduled to play.
