Winemaker Todd Alexander of Woodinville’s Force Majeure Vineyards will be pouring at Esquin’s Skylounge in SoDo tomorrow from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The winery holds the current distinction of having the only 97-point score ever given to a Washington Cabernet Sauvignon from Wine Spectator. So take that Quilceda Creek. They also happen to have one of the best looking winemakers in the Northwest. So, come taste wines from the winery’s lineup for a bargain price of $20 and ogle Todd in the process. RSVP to Esquin’s via email here.
Paying homage to where it all got started – that’s what will be happening at Tilth Restaurant on May 13th when Nora Pouillon of Restaurant Nora in Washington D.C. comes to town to read from her new book My Organic Life. Restaurant Nora was the first restaurant to be certified organic which preceded and inspired Tilth – the country’s second organic restaurant. Come join Chef’s Maria Hines and Jason Brzozowy for a four-course meal with wine pairings and a copy of the book – all for the low, low price of $125. Reservations can be made by calling 206-633-0801.
Kukai Ramen and Izakaya opened its third outlet in Capitol Hill on 320 E. Pine this past weekend. The restaurant continues to explore our newfound fascination with bone broth (aka stock) and ramen. What we all used to buy in 5 packs for a dollar has now become the latest food ‘craze’ if there ever was one. And now, it’s being franchised. So, instead of eating MSG-laden noodles in your dorm room hotpot for twenty cents, you now get an otherworldly rendition of tender noodles with rich, unctuous broth for $8-$12.
