The Auction of Washington Wines returns with its Winemaker Dinner series, auction and gala to benefit uncompensated care, cancer clinical trials and autism at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Viticulture and Enology Research at Washington State University. Events begin on June 6th with Vintners in the Vineyard in Red Mountain at Col Solare Winery where 25 winemakers hang with the guests and drink copious amounts of big, red Washington wine along with food provided by Jake Crenshaw of Olive Restaurant. Tickets are $95/pp and can be purchased on the AWW website.
In more wine-related news, Osteria La Spiga is hosting an industry-style wine tasting event featuring wines from eight different Italian wineries including Paola Falabretti, Alessando Cellai and Luigi Babera. Each of the winemakers will be in attendance for the event which will also feature small plates from the kitchen of Chef Sabrina Tinsley. Dinner and wine comes in at the low, all-inclusive price of $38/pp. Where else can you drink eight wines and eat on the Hill for under forty bucks?!
And last, but not least, we’ll continue on the wine tip with a Grower Champagne Dinner at Daniel’s Broiler – Lake Union on May 22nd. The restaurant will feature wines from Terry Theise Estate Selections with six different grower champagnes in the docket. Chef Ayhan Barlas will pair each with a specific dish including Kumamoto oysters, Dungeness Crab Custard and Seared Halibut a la Nicoise. Tickets are $95/pp plus tax and gratuity and can be reserved online.
