In today’s most excellent news, former Portage Bay Cafe chef Avalon Zanoni is running an IndieGoGo campaign to fund her first solo venture in what will hopefully become Please Maid Cafe. The restaurant will be high on cosplay with servers creatively dressed in ‘maid attire’ and will be located either in the ID or Capitol Hill. The cafe will be open for lunch and dinner and will feature seasonal fare. Also – tipping will be completely eliminated with no hidden or explicit surcharges.
In meat loving news we have Stoneburner which is launching its Meat Maitre D’ service on Thursday May 7th for the first in a four-part series featuring charcuterie producers from the West Coast. The first dinner will feature Oakland’s Boccalone with subsequent dinners from Creminelli, Fra Mani and Olympic Provisions. Each evening, the producer will walk diners through a series of products and educate them on the curing processes and their philosophy. Guests who are interested in attending the Meat Maitre d’ Series can make reservations by calling 206.695.2051 or visiting stoneburnerseattle.com/reservations. So go and enjoy learning about the alchemy of turning a pedestrian piece of meat into a beautifully cured party in your mouth.
