If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet then now is the time to head to Bastille Cafe & Bar and reserve your spots for their Monday rooftop dinner series. A series of fourteen dinners will be held each Monday evening from mid-June through September with limited seating for 10 diners. For $150 you’ll get a rooftop garden tour and a multi-course family-style meal with wine pairings. Tickets are available via Brown Paper Tickets.
Today is the day where 420 enthusiasts take part in their favorite pastime. And coincidentally, it’s also the day that Kraken Congee opens in its new Pioneer Square location at 88 Yesler. Chefs Garrett Doherty and Shane Robinson take over in the former Little Uncle space and bring you’re their namesake classic dish as well as a selection of starters and sides. Monday’s are lunch service only with dinner added on Tuesday through Saturday. And if you haven’t gotten enough congee by then, you can go for brunch on Sunday’s. So for those of you with a hunger that needs satisfying, perhaps a bowl of porridge will suit you today? Check out how they got the funds to open here.
And for those of you into pop-ups check out Orchard by Chef Venessa Goldberg who formerly owned the food truck How Pickle Got Out of a Jam. The five-course meal focuses on seasonal colors palest greens, purest whites, and most vivid pinks and reds and will be served in the former La Bete/Spaghetti Western space on April 30th at 7 p.m. Dishes include Salt Baked Trout with spring vegetable slaw, preserved Meyer lemon, parsley and Roast Chicken with rhubarb, saffron gnocchi, pea vine, fava, mint. Tickets are $48/pp and reservations can be made online.
