Citizens of Seattle and people of the land – you will have easy access to fresh produce and meat this summer courtesy of the Pike Place Farmers Markets. From June 16th through October 2nd, the pop up markets will appear at five locations across the city. The ‘Express’ markets will land at City Hall, Pioneer Square, South Lake Union, First Hill and outside the original Market itself. Thai food fans take note that Greenwood/Phinney spot Thaiku is celebrating Songkran – the traditional Thai New Year from April 8th through the 21st. How many different new years are there anyway?! And what’s with a two-week celebration? Anyhoo – the special menu will feature symbols of happiness, abundance, good luck and prosperity. And who doesn’t need those? The fixed price menu gets you four dishes for $18 which makes this an affordable date night for all. Bonus – diners will get to participate in a traditional water blessing of Buddha. Score!
Italian wine lovers will appreciate the opportunity to attend the Antinori Winemaker Dinner at Spazzo Italian Wine Bar & Grill in Redmond Town Center this upcoming Wednesday, April 8th. Service starts at 6 p.m. with passed hors d’oeuvres continuing on to a four-course meal paired with wines such as Guado al Tasso and Col Solare. $75 is the price of admission here and reservations can be made online, or call private dining at 425-990-6310.
